Website Handover & Transfer Policy

Your domain stays yours, and you may move your website elsewhere

Last updated: 9 September 2026

1. Hosting choice before building

Choose QuickWeb24 managed hosting, your existing hosting provider, or our recommendation during setup. Customer hosting must pass a technical compatibility check; any deployment work, limitations and extra charges must be agreed before purchase. Customer-hosted sites have no QuickWeb24 hosting renewal.

2. Ownership and access

You retain domain ownership and registrar access. The website materials and export rights follow the accepted order and Terms of Sale. Third-party software, licensed assets, proprietary services and subscriptions may have separate restrictions; these are identified in the handover. We do not require a transfer of domain ownership to provide managed hosting.

3. Requesting a move

Use Request website transfer in your customer portal. Provide the destination provider and relevant technical contact without sending passwords in ordinary messages. We confirm the agreed export, deployment requirements and any separately agreed migration work. No lock-in or transfer penalty is imposed solely for choosing another host; additional migration work outside the purchased scope is quoted in advance.

4. Safe handover

We coordinate the website export and required DNS changes, preserve business-email and third-party DNS records, and verify the new destination before ending the previous hosting arrangement. A transfer request pauses automated suspension/deletion during coordination. We do not change ownership of your domain.

5. Included and renewed hosting

The first 12 months on QuickWeb24 hosting are included from production launch. Further terms cost £29 by renewal invitation. Moving to customer hosting ends QuickWeb24 renewals once handover is confirmed. There is no separate refund value assigned to the included hosting; paid renewals and package cancellations follow the Refund & Cancellation Policy.

6. Data return and retention

After an unpaid service is suspended, the recovery period is 60 days before site data becomes eligible for controlled deletion. Request exports before this period ends. Transfer or dispute preservation requirements are handled before deletion, while accounting/security records remain subject to their separate lawful retention requirements.

7. Completion

The project record stores the new provider, verified destination, DNS change and export-rights evidence. Hosting is marked transferred only after these checks pass.
